Short answer To track a remittance to Pakistan, identify the sending service and the Pakistani payout bank, then use the reference requested by that provider’s official tracker. Allied Bank and HABIBMETRO publish reference-based tracking forms. Save the result and its time before contacting support. A receipt or a failed search alone does not establish whether the receiver has been paid.

Ask the sender which service accepted the transfer, what payout method was selected and which institution will deliver it in Pakistan. Keep those details together with the transfer reference. If the receiver only has a screenshot, ask the sender to open the original record in the service they used.
A sender’s order number, a bank’s remittance code and an account number have different jobs. Do not assume that a reference from one stage will work in another institution’s form. Follow the label on the actual tracker, and ask the sending service for the payout-bank reference when the relationship is unclear.
For account payments, compare the destination recorded in the transfer with the receiver’s own bank details. Our IBAN checker checks format; it cannot confirm that money arrived or identify the owner of an account.
The following are two bank-published forms, not a universal search across transfers to Pakistan.
| Institution | What its page asks for | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Allied Bank | Reference Code, with a security check | Official remittance tracker |
| HABIBMETRO | Unique Reference Number; the page also calls it a Reference Number/Remittance Code | Official remittance tracker |

Allied’s page describes online status tracking and lists its contact centre for assistance. HABIBMETRO similarly provides a form for a reference-based search. Neither page supplies a common code format for every sending service.
Open the official page yourself. Use the bank’s published contact route if the form is unavailable or the reference is rejected. Do not send your reference to an unofficial account offering to search on your behalf.
Record the tracker’s exact wording, the institution consulted and the time of the check. If it returns no match, that observation establishes only that this search did not locate a record. Recheck which bank and reference were used before concluding that a transfer has disappeared.
If the tracker shows a processing state, ask the provider what that state means for the selected payout method. Avoid translating an unfamiliar label into a promise that the funds are ready to collect.
For an account credit, the receiver can also check their bank’s own transaction record. For a cash payout, obtain the paying institution’s collection instructions. Do not substitute another person’s experience for the requirements attached to this transfer.
The broader receiving money from abroad guide explains account, cash and wallet routes. The UK and UAE corridor guides cover the sender-side context.
A clear enquiry should let the sending service or payout bank find the same transaction without a long exchange of screenshots.
Keep a private note containing:
State the unresolved question directly: for example, whether the payout bank has received the instruction, which reference its tracker expects, or what the next required action is. These are suggested questions, not descriptions of a bank’s internal system.
Share supporting documents only through the institution’s official channel. A public comment under a news story is not an appropriate place for account details or identity documents. Our site does not need those documents to explain the process.
If the matter becomes a complaint, keep its acknowledgement and the bank’s response alongside the transfer record. This prevents a later follow-up from becoming an unrelated new enquiry.
The State Bank’s Sunwai FAQ identifies the concerned bank’s Complaint Management Unit as the first forum for a banking complaint. It describes escalation to Banking Mohtasib Pakistan when the bank does not respond within the applicable complaint period or the customer remains dissatisfied with the outcome. Check the current procedure when filing.
That is complaint guidance, not a promised remittance delivery time. The same FAQ distinguishes the matters handled by SBP, including microfinance-bank complaints. Use the route appropriate to the institution and issue; do not assume every complaint goes to the same authority.
No tracker result should be presented as a guarantee that a complaint will succeed, that a refund is due or that a new transfer should be sent. Resolve the status of the existing payment with the relevant provider.
This guide identifies bank-specific tools. Use the tracker connected to the actual payout institution rather than treating either form as a search across all providers.
No. The tracker requests a transfer reference. An IBAN identifies a bank account and serves a different purpose.
No. First confirm the institution, reference and payout method, then ask the relevant provider to investigate the original transfer.
No. The Sunwai FAQ’s complaint escalation guidance is separate from the delivery terms of the service used.
