Home › Bank codes › Bank AL Habib account opening
Short answer Bank AL Habib account opening through its digital portal is available to residents of Pakistan. Prepare your identity document, a mobile number registered against your CNIC, an active email address, income or funds evidence appropriate to your circumstances, a signature image and a camera for a live photograph. Submission is followed by the bank’s review; it is not an immediate approval.
CNIC means Computerised National Identity Card; SNIC is the smart identity card. The bank’s digital onboarding guide describes the documents, while the live portal supplies the upload instructions for your application.
| Item | Preparation |
|---|---|
| Identity | Scans of the front and back of your CNIC or SNIC |

| Income or funds | Evidence matching your occupation and source of funds; the application may request a self-declaration for applicable products |
| Signature | A clear image of your signature on white paper |
| Photograph | Access to a camera for the live-image stage |
| Dependent applicant | Fund-provider information and supporting documents appropriate to the application |

Do not treat a student or homemaker application as an application with no source of funds. The guide explicitly includes fund-provider identity and source-of-funds information for dependent applicants. Students may be asked for a valid student card or an institution’s letter, together with the relevant supporting declaration.
The portal distinguishes New Customer, Resume Application and Account Maintenance. A person who started but did not finish the form should use the resume route. Maintenance is for updating an existing record, rather than beginning another application to correct a phone number or address.
Residency comes before account selection. The portal’s local digital facility is described for people residing in Pakistan. Do not assume that an overseas applicant has the same eligibility or documentation route.
The bank’s guide distinguishes conventional and Islamic banking and shows account choices within the digital journey. Read the conditions of the specific product you select. A requirement or benefit attached to Asaan Digital is not automatically a rule for every Bank AL Habib account.
The portal describes a six-digit authentication code and says it expires within 10 minutes. Use its resend option if the code expires. Enter the code only in the official application; do not send it to someone offering to complete the form for you.
The current portal requests JPG, JPEG or PNG identity images with a maximum size of 2 MB. Its general documents section accepts JPG, PNG or PDF and also states a 2 MB limit. Signature instructions ask for two separate signed pages, uploaded as images.
The older onboarding PDF contains varying upload-size instructions on different screens. Follow the current limit displayed for the particular field instead of assuming every upload accepts the largest figure appearing in that guide.
For the live photograph, the portal asks that the face remain uncovered and that accessories or hair do not obscure facial features. Camera access is part of that stage. If the image is unclear, correct it before submitting rather than relying on the bank to infer identity from it.

The 60 days are a biometric deadline after opening, not a promised approval time. A successful submission screen and an active account are separate stages.
Yes. The portal provides Resume Application. Keep the reference and contact details associated with the application so the bank can identify the correct record.
No. Document uploads and live-image capture belong to the application. The portal separately requires biometric verification after the account becomes active.
The application guide does not make a SWIFT code part of the identity checklist. For receiving money internationally after opening, use the separate Bank AL Habib SWIFT reference. Obtain your own account details from the bank; do not substitute a generic code for an account number or IBAN.
No. Read the selected product’s conditions and the current schedule shown by the bank before choosing cards or additional services. This guide explains the application process and does not treat older promotional benefits as current pricing.
