JS Bank account opening through JS Blink

Short answer JS Blink lets adult resident Pakistanis apply for a JS Bank current or savings account from a phone or web browser. Prepare your own CNIC, SNIC or NICOP, a signature image and documents that show your occupation and source of income. JS Bank says processing normally takes two working days. The application is free, but biometric verification must be completed within 60 days or the bank says the account will close on day 61.

Who can apply

JS Bank describes JS Blink as a digital account-opening service for resident Pakistanis. The minimum age is 18. Its FAQ lists salaried people, self-employed people, government and semi-government employees, landlords, retired people and unemployed applicants among the eligible customer types.

The service is for conventional banking. It offers more than one product, so “JS Blink account” is not a single set of limits or features. The bank lists:

  • Asaan Digital Account;
  • Asaan Digital Remittance Account;
  • Freelancer Digital Account in PKR or USD;
  • Digital Current Account in PKR or USD; and
  • Digital Savings Account in PKR or USD.

Choose the product before relying on a balance limit, profit rate, debit card fee or cheque-book feature. The Asaan, remittance, freelancer and standard digital accounts do not all use the same rules.

Documents to prepare

The bank’s published document list changes with the applicant’s occupation and the selected account. The common starting points are:

Item What JS Bank publishes
Identity Scan of the original CNIC, SNIC or NICOP, front and back
Signature Signature specimen or signature image
Occupation and income Evidence matching employment, business or other source of income
Bank information A recent bank statement for some salaried and self-employed applications
Zakat declaration If applicable
Mobile number An active number registered against the applicant’s identity document

For a salaried applicant, JS Bank asks for a recent salary slip, employment contract or another employer-issued proof of income not more than three months old, plus a recent bank statement. For a self-employed applicant, it lists a self-declaration on company letterhead and a recent bank statement or proof of business.

Some simplified products may accept a self-declaration instead of the fuller evidence used for a standard digital account. Follow the upload checklist shown after choosing the product. Do not assume that a document accepted for an Asaan account is sufficient for a standard current or savings account.

How to apply

  1. Open the official JS Blink portal or download the JS Mobile app from the link on JS Bank’s site.
  2. Select Open an Account and then choose the JS Blink digital account route.
  3. Pick the specific account type and currency.
  4. Enter your personal, occupation, income and contact details.
  5. Upload the identity, signature and supporting documents requested for that product.
  6. Review the information before submitting the application.
  7. Watch for an email or call if the bank marks a document incomplete or asks for a correction.
  8. Complete biometric verification when instructed.

This checklist is based on JS Bank’s published information. ptvold did not open or test an account. The live application can add checks required by regulation or the bank’s internal policy.

Your mobile number must match your identity record

JS Bank says the active mobile number used in the application must be registered against the applicant’s CNIC or SNIC according to PTA records. If the number cannot be verified, the bank tells applicants to use a number registered in their own name.

That makes the mobile check more than a contact preference. A relative’s number is not interchangeable with the applicant’s number for this route. Fix a registration mismatch before submitting repeated applications.

Never give a one-time code, PIN or password to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Start from JS Bank’s own website or app and use its published helpline if a verification step fails.

Processing time and approval

The JS Blink FAQ gives a two-working-day turnaround time for processing. It also says accounts are opened and activated within 48 hours among the product features. Treat that as the bank’s stated service target, not a guarantee that every submitted form is approved in two days.

Incomplete or inconsistent documents can delay the application. JS Bank says an applicant marked “discrepant” receives an email and a call requesting the missing or corrected documents. Submission alone does not establish that an account exists.

Biometric verification has a 60-day deadline

After the account-opening email, JS Bank says the customer must visit a branch for biometric verification. The bank gives a 60-day window. Its FAQ states that an account will close automatically on the 61st day if biometric verification has not been completed.

Cheque books and debit cards are also tied to that stage. JS Bank says the selected branch contacts the customer for collection after successful biometric verification.

Keep the biometric deadline separate from the processing target. An application can be processed and an account opened while a later identity-verification obligation is still outstanding.

Charges and minimum balance

JS Bank says applying through JS Blink is free. Its current Key Fact Statement lists no account-maintenance fee and no minimum balance required to open or keep the listed digital accounts.

That does not mean every related service is free. The Key Fact Statement lists separate charges or possible waivers for items such as non-JS Bank ATM withdrawals, debit cards, cheque books, stop-payment requests, foreign remittances and some over-the-counter or clearing transactions. Fees can change, and product features may waive a charge.

Read the Key Fact Statement for the exact account you select, then check the bank’s latest schedule before ordering optional services. “No minimum balance” and “no maintenance fee” do not erase transaction or card charges.

Account limits differ by product

JS Bank’s page lists a PKR 1,000,000 balance limit and PKR 1,000,000 monthly debit limit for its Asaan Digital Account. The Asaan Digital Remittance Account is shown with a PKR 3,000,000 balance limit, a PKR 1,000,000 local-credit limit and PKR 500,000 daily cash-withdrawal and funds-transfer limits, with no commercial remittances allowed.

Those figures belong to the named products. Standard digital current and savings accounts and freelancer accounts have different structures. Confirm the live account table before applying because limits, currencies and remittance restrictions affect which product fits.

For international transfers into an existing account, see the JS Bank SWIFT code. For a general explanation of account identifiers, use the IBAN checker; it checks format but does not open an account or verify ownership.
