Meezan Bank IBAN: how to find or generate yours

Short answer Every Meezan Bank IBAN is 24 characters and starts with PK, two check digits and the bank code MEZN. Your IBAN is printed on your bank statement, and you can also get it from Meezan’s WhatsApp banking or Meezan’s official IBAN generator ↗.

How to find your Meezan IBAN

Meezan Bank publishes three ways.

1. Your bank statement. Meezan says the IBAN “is printed on the Bank Statements sent to customer on half yearly interval”.

2. WhatsApp banking. Meezan’s WhatsApp service offers “Generate IBAN” along with balance enquiry and statement download. To register, the bank says to:

  1. Save Meezan Bank’s WhatsApp number, 021-111-331-331, on your phone.
  2. Send a WhatsApp message to it from your registered phone number.
  3. Send the last four digits of your CNIC (computerised national identity card) when asked.

Meezan says the IBAN generated through WhatsApp “can be used for financial transactions”.

3. The official IBAN generator. Go to Meezan’s IBAN generator ↗, select your branch, enter your existing Meezan account number and tick the disclaimer. The bank warns that the tool “only converts the entered number into IBAN format”: if you pick the wrong branch or type the account number wrongly, it will give you a wrong IBAN. The generator works for Meezan accounts only.

The Meezan mobile app is not on this list because the bank does not publish in-app steps for finding your IBAN. Meezan also does not say whether the IBAN is printed on the cheque book. If you are unsure, call the 24/7 call centre on +92 (21) 111-331-331.

What the 24 characters mean

Meezan explains its IBAN this way:

The bank’s own example: account number 1234567890 at branch code 0101 gives PK10MEZN0001011234567890. This is a sample, not a real account.

Because the branch code sits inside the IBAN, the branch matters. Meezan does not publish a full branch-code list on its website; its branch locator ↗ lets you search more than 1,000 branches by city.

Check an IBAN before you share it

Meezan’s IBAN page has an IBAN validator tab alongside the generator. You can also paste an IBAN into our IBAN checker, to see whether it is valid. Our checker only validates an IBAN; it does not create one, so get your own from your statement, WhatsApp banking or the bank’s generator.

What the IBAN is used for

Meezan says: “Currently, IBAN can be used to receive inward remittances from abroad.” Someone sending you money from another country usually needs your IBAN and Meezan’s SWIFT code, MEZNPKKA. Warning Meezan Bank says it will never ask you to share your card or account information, PIN or password on WhatsApp, and that it “will never contact any customer and request electronic banking credentials”. Your IBAN is safe to share with a sender; your PIN, password and card details are not. Meezan also warns about copycat websites with addresses very similar to meezanbank.com, so type the address yourself. On its official LinkedIn page in January 2026, Meezan said it does not call customers from its UAN numbers 021-111-331-331 and 021-111-331-332. If you think your login details have been stolen, call 111-331-331 at once.

Yes. Meezan says the IBAN generated through WhatsApp can be used for financial transactions.

Is the IBAN the same as my account number?

No. Your 10-digit Meezan account number is the last part of the IBAN. The IBAN adds PK, two check digits, MEZN, 00 and your 4-digit branch code in front of it.

Is the IBAN the same as the SWIFT code?

No. The SWIFT code MEZNPKKA identifies Meezan Bank; the IBAN identifies your own account.
