KARACHI, September 26, 2026 — EBANX, a Brazil-founded company that processes payments for international online merchants, says it is preparing to operate in Pakistan. In a release dated September 24, 2026, it said the first local payment methods it will offer are the wallets JazzCash and Easypaisa, followed by Raast, the State Bank of Pakistan’s instant payment system.
What EBANX announced
EBANX made the announcement at its annual Payments Summit. Its release says the company “added Pakistan to its operations portfolio for the next semester”. PYMNTS and Fintech News Singapore, reporting the same announcement, put the start in the first half of 2027. EBANX gave no month.

EBANX’s chief product officer, Eduardo de Abreu, described Pakistan as “a classic mobile-first market where smartphone ownership runs 20 to 40 percentage points ahead of card ownership”. The company cites World Data Lab figures, analysed by EBANX, projecting 22% average annual growth in Pakistan’s e-commerce spending from 2026 to 2030. These are the company’s figures, not official statistics.
What the release does not say
The release does not name a Pakistani partner bank or payment service provider, a licence or approval from the State Bank of Pakistan, or which international merchants will use the service. It gives no fees.
What changed
- Before: EBANX did not list Pakistan among its markets.
- Now: EBANX says it is preparing Pakistan operations, starting with JazzCash and Easypaisa and adding Raast later.
- Effective: Not yet live. EBANX says “the next semester”; other reports say the first half of 2027.
What this means for you Nothing changes today: you cannot yet pay an international merchant through EBANX with a Pakistani wallet.
