KARACHI, September 27, 2026 — Overseas Pakistanis and other account holders put US$259 million into Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) in August 2026, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Profit. That took cumulative inflows since the scheme began in September 2020 to US$13.906 billion. An RDA is a bank account in Pakistan that a non-resident opens and runs online.

August’s inflow was about 8% lower than July’s. Profit reported that it was 58% higher than the US$164 million of August 2025. Citing Topline Securities, Profit said the August figure was below the six-month average of US$290 million but above the long-term monthly average of US$193 million.

By the end of August, APP reported, RDA holders had invested US$716 million in Naya Pakistan Certificates, US$1,332 million in Naya Pakistan Islamic Certificates and US$155 million through Roshan Equity Investment.

What the governor said

At the launch of the Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme on September 25, 2026, SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad said the RDA scheme’s scope had been expanded to let foreign investors and Pakistani residents with declared foreign assets invest through RDA channels, besides overseas Pakistanis, Business Recorder reported. Samaa quoted him as saying RDA inflows had reached around US$300 million a month.
