JazzCash code: *786# and what JazzCash publishes for each network

Short answer JazzCash’s USSD code is *786#. JazzCash’s website says “Any JazzCash account holder can make payments via App and USSD” and tells customers to dial *786#. JazzCash’s current pages do not say which networks *786# works on. The only official source tying it to Jazz SIMs is a 2019 JazzCash Facebook post, which told customers to dial *786# “from your Jazz/Warid number”. On Zong, Ufone and Telenor SIMs, JazzCash publishes no USSD code. Its account page says you can open an account “on any mobile network”, and the only method it describes is the JazzCash app.

Codes by network

Pick your SIM’s network. JazzCash publishes two USSD codes. It gives the card-block code for Jazz customers; for *786#, the only official source naming a network is its 2019 Facebook post, which names Jazz and Warid. For the other networks JazzCash names the app and the helpline.

Network: Jazz

What you want to do Code
Open the JazzCash menu *786#
Block your debit card *786*6*4*3# (JazzCash gives this code for “Jazz customer”)
Create an account without the app JazzCash’s terms say a new account can be created “using USSD”. The only steps it has published are in a 2019 Facebook post: dial *786# from your Jazz number and enter your CNIC’s date of issue

Tip On a Telenor SIM, *786# is the Easypaisa code, not JazzCash’s. On Jazz, Zong and Ufone SIMs, Easypaisa’s code is *2262#. See Easypaisa codes.

Balance, send money and PIN

JazzCash’s official pages do not publish short codes or menu steps for checking your balance, sending money, a mini statement or changing your MPIN. Dial *786# on a Jazz SIM and choose from the menu, or use the app. Jazz’s self-service page lists balance checks, MPIN creation or change, bill payments and money transfer among the JazzCash services on the 4444 helpline. These are helpline services, not USSD codes. Jazz says a call to 4444 costs Rs2.39.

Codes for these actions that circulate on blogs and videos are not confirmed by JazzCash, so we don’t list them.

JazzCash says you cannot make transactions for the first 2 hours after your account is created, as a security measure.

*2262# is not a JazzCash code

*2262# is the code of the Asaan Mobile Account scheme. PTA’s press release of December 14, 2021 says the scheme “allows opening of mobile banking account by dialing a simple code *2262# from any mobile phone (smart or feature phone) using a SIM of any mobile operator and making transactions without the need for internet connectivity.”

JazzCash’s own pages do not mention *2262#, and we found no JazzCash or SBP page that lists JazzCash among the providers on it.

Account limits

JazzCash’s terms publish this table of limits, in rupees. JazzCash says the limits apply to the account level “regardless of whatever channel is used”.

A second JazzCash table, in the international remittance section of its website, gives different figures in three places:

  • Level 1 yearly limit: Rs3,600,000 in the terms, Rs300,000 in the second table.
  • Level 1 maximum balance: Rs1,000,000 in the terms, Rs3,000,000 in the second table.
  • Freelance Digital Account daily debit: Rs1,400,000 in the terms, Rs750,000 in the second table.

The second table has no Level 0 row. JazzCash does not say which table is current. Its terms say the limits “can be extended” and that the call centre can give “the updated information for products and limits”. JazzCash also caps JazzCash-to-JazzCash transfers at five sent and five received a day.

SBP’s limits for branchless banking accounts

The State Bank of Pakistan’s Consolidated Customer Onboarding Framework (BPRD Circular No. 01 of 2025, July 25, 2025) sets these limits for a branchless banking account: Rs100,000 a day and Rs300,000 a month, applied separately to credits and debits, and a maximum credit balance of Rs1,000,000. The SBP website serves only the circular’s cover letter, so we read the framework’s text from a copy hosted by a bank. These are SBP’s figures. The daily, monthly and balance figures for Level 1 in JazzCash’s terms match them.

Who runs JazzCash

JazzCash is run by Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL). The bank’s financial statements say it obtained its microfinance licence from the State Bank of Pakistan on September 12, 2011, and that it offers branchless banking services under an SBP branchless banking licence, through an agency agreement with Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited (PMCL), a related party. The bank’s website says Jazz and its “sister concern” Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited operate JazzCash together. The bank’s ultimate parent is Veon Limited (MMBL financial statements, June 2025 ↗).
