Where the code comes from

Faysal Bank’s incoming remittance routing details, a document on faysalbank.com, name the beneficiary bank as “FAYSAL BANK LIMITED, KARACHI, PAKISTAN Swift Code FAYSPKKA”. The same code appears for payments in Pakistani rupees, Canadian dollars, euros, pounds, Saudi riyals, UAE dirhams and Chinese yuan. The document is not dated.

Roshan Digital Account holders

For US dollar payments, the same document gives the code FAYSPKKARDA. Faysal Bank’s Roshan Digital Account (RDA) page says: “Simply use the swift code FAYSPKKARDA along with IBAN with the remitting bank to avail special discounted charges on remittance.”

The bank lists these charges on inward remittances to an RDA with this code:

  • through JP Morgan New York: “as low as USD 07”
  • through Standard Chartered: “as low as USD 5 / EUR 5”

Faysal Bank says: “There are no charges on Inward Remittance by Faysal Bank. However, correspondent bank charges will apply in case the remittance is sent through swift.” Use FAYSPKKARDA for an RDA; for an ordinary account, give FAYSPKKA.

Is there a separate code for each branch?

Faysal Bank does not publish branch-level SWIFT codes or an 11-character form such as FAYSPKKAXXX. Code-lookup websites list codes for some Faysal branches, but the bank does not confirm them on its site, so we don’t repeat them. If a sender’s bank asks for an 11-character code, call Faysal Bank on +92 21 111 06 06 06 first.

SWIFT code and IBAN are different

The SWIFT code identifies the bank. The IBAN (International Bank Account Number) identifies your own account. A sender abroad usually needs both.

Faysal Bank says your “IBAN number is printed on the Bank Statements sent to customers on a half-yearly basis”, and that you can also generate it with the IBAN calculator ↗ on its website. The calculator page says the account number “can be 14-digit, or 16-digits”. The bank says it is not responsible for errors caused by entering the wrong account number.

Faysal Bank’s pages that we could read do not print the 4-letter bank code used inside its IBANs, so we don’t state it. Some websites give a code, but the bank does not confirm it on its own site. Give the sender your full IBAN as it appears on your statement or in the calculator. You can check that it is in the right format with our IBAN checker. It only validates an IBAN; it does not create one.

Receiving money from abroad

Faysal Bank has a remittance account for people who receive money from abroad, the Faysal Islami Tez Tareen Asaan Remittance Account, which it says is “specifically designed to receive remittances from abroad directly”. Its key fact statement lists inward remittance charges as “Nil if proceeds are credited to an account with FBL”. If the money is not credited to a Faysal Bank account, pay order or demand draft charges plus postal or SWIFT charges apply.

We did not find a Faysal Bank page on cash over the counter payments or a remittance tracker when we checked. Ask the bank on +92 21 111 06 06 06 before the money is sent.

Warning Faysal Bank says: “Faysal Bank’s representative will never call or email to ask for your Personal/Account related information, including Login ID, Password, OTP, MPIN, etc.” It also warns: “Stay aware of Call/SMS spoofing.
